given a 1.25 diameter barrel in 22 rim fire would you use the same way of putting a bedding block on a barrel ?can you describe how you would go about this?

Don't try to use a 1.25 straight cylinder barrel with a RF. Been there. Done that. Got the T-shirt. Look at a .900 or smaller barrel.

Jerry is right.
Remember one of the Northeast guys experimented with something about 1 1/2" OD, proved to be absolutely untunable.
