Giblett,
The Bald Eagle is a fine front rest made by my long time friend Bill Gebhardt. I have owned several and still have one. Unfortunately they are hard to come by new as Bill is pretty much retired. I know nothing of the top in question. The Cast Iron model is generally considered more desireable than the aluminum model by many unless you have a bad back like I do then you tend to appreciate the aluminum model more.

Aluminum model just as good

Weighs a bunch less but just as good. The weight is a mental requirement.

The Mountain Specialty top is made by Scott "Fudd" Hamilton.

Thanks for that bit of information . I have seen several of those tops but never knew who made them it is a very nice top. Is it a windage adjustable top or are the knobs just for the adjustable sides?

Dick the Fudd top does both. It is quite a mechanism and a very well made mechanism. The right hand knob adjusts the sides for s pretty good distance then the left knob adjusts the entire upper assembly. There are many of the Fudd tops in use in the rimfire arena. They are a little pricey for use where the shooter has just one forearm width to contend width.

Fudd Hamilton is an Engineer for what was West Va Pulp & Paper (WESTVACO). He also has several CNC lathes and mills in his shop. He does the very best of work.
