Bald Eagle Rest Question

Are the current production Bald Eagle rest's decent quality? I am considering the slingshot cast iron model with windage top for BR shooting, should I look at another brand ? Thanks in advance.

I bought a cast iron Bald Eagle slingshot 2-3 months ago. I'm very impressed with it (with a few caveats). Very heavy and stable. Quality of build and fit/finish very good. Vertical controls work smoothly. By far the best bang for the buck, and MUCH better than similarly priced machine rests.

Negatives:

a) The windage top is not long enough for a standard front rest bag, but made for a Bald Eagle rest bag (which is shorter than standard). Easily modified by removing one of the double-bolts each side of the bag retainer. By modifying this way, standard length (3" as I recall) bags will fit.

b) The windage cable control has backlash due to flexure of the cable. I modified this by getting rid of the cable system and using a fixed bolt like the original Bald Eagle used. Now works very well.
