ARC 200 yd Match for Score
17 Shooters - 13 VFS, 4 Factory Rifles
Cold front moved in about an hour before our start. Temp dropped 20 degrees, north wind (in your face) at 10-15 and rain came too until we started and it let off. Less than ideal conditions but some shooters got a few good scores in our 'Once-a-year' 200 yd score match.
Mark Edmunds takes 1st place in factory rifle with a 234-3X shooting a 308. 2nd place was Ernest Mims at 229-1X with a 6.5 CM and 3rd was Paul Shanklin at 219-0X. Hard shooting with an unsteady North wind.
With THAT wind there were NO CLEAN shooters today. Marlon Goates came the closest and gets 1st VFS with his 246-5X, also the high X-count for the match. Shooting the same 246 for 2nd place was Charles Moore with one less X, a 246-4X. 3rd place goes to Bob Maedgen, the only one to wear a Halloween mask, shooting a 244-3X. All in all, it was a pretty tough match under tough conditions. More shooters had messaged to be there but the wind, rain and cold had some rethinking their commitment.
Thanks to all for good and quick target changes and slopping thru the mud.
Next months match is Thanksgiving weekend, Sunday the 26th, STARTS AT NOON.
