As long as we're asking for gunsmith recommendations....

I am looking for a good general purpose gunsmith in the St Paul Minneapolis area. I've never hesitated to send my rifles to where the best workmen are, and proximity be damned, but for the less elaborate tasks someone local would be nice. I want to say there is a retired tool and die man or machinist in the Minneapolis suburban area who is well recommended. TYIA

Both the 'Jim's' above do good work. I've had Jim Kobe do work for me in the past with excellent results, and I know Jim See at centershot rifles pretty well, talk to him once a week (at least!) and you couldn't find a nicer gentleman willing to do the job 'right'.

I will be at the MWCA gun show at the MN state fairgrounds, Education Building this weekend, come by and look me up so we can talk about what it is you need.

Jim Kobe

About 2hrs. south of you is Stan Ware @ SGR Custom Rifles in Westbrook.

Doesn't get much better than Stan. :) -Al

Another Vote for Jim Kobe

I have had Jim Kobe install two barrels for me in the last two years both of the guns shoot well. Jim's rates are reasonable and he does not take long to do the work.
