Are the 6mm geting more popular than the 6.5mm?

I assume you are inquiring about what is used for 1000 yards. I'd say no but you can look at match reports to see what is used . 6MM rules at 600 yards, and I'd say 30 rules at 1000 yards followed by 6.5MM and then 6MM. That's what I see here in NC, it may vary some in different locations.

This is benchrest I'm not talking F Class and Highpower.

Peter on the west coast the 6mm's are very popular at 600 and 1,000 yards in lightgun class. In heavygun class there not as popular with the really big heavyguns but some shooters use the same gun for both classes and that is why they are gainng in popularity out here.

Yes, the 6mms are gaining popularity

The 6mms have the following advantages:

The 6BR, 6BRX, 6mmDasher, 6XC,and 6 X 47 all are inheritly accurate. The have low recoil, good brass and bullet availability. Brass fire forms accurately enough to be used in matches. They require less powder, and barrel life is around 3000 where the hotter 6mms and 6.5s ahve about half or less the barrel life. They shoot within inches of the 6.5s and 30s. It only makes too much sence they have become popular.
