ARA Scoring

I have a question on scoring the ARA target.

On the shot with the X, it that scored a 50 if you can see blue on the worst edge or white on the best edge? I would suppose it is blue on the worst edge.

Unless it totally breaks the 25 ring it is a 50. Pay no never mind to the indside of the bullet...all we care about is the outermost part in ARA. Technically unless the bullet puts a bulge in the curcumference of the outside ring you still get the higher score.

By the way the x you show is a 50.

Hope that helps.

Thanks Charles, that's what I thought but we scored it wrong this weekend. At least they were all scored the same way.

out of the box

I was shooting over the weekend and the wind blew one of my shots out of the box. One person says it was a zero and some one else said it was a sighter?? I skipped that box and went onto the next target. What is the ruling on such a shot???

That must have been some wind!! If it's entirely out of the box, it's a freebie. You can reshoot it for score.

In or Out

If the shot did not touch the box, then it's a no shot. If it touched the box, then it is a Zero. ARA scoring is not that hard, read the rule book and also read the scoring article at the ARA web site. Also note the rules revision on double shots in one bull. Again as Charlie stated, the X you indicated is a 50. Those are the kind of shots that require a plug to actualy see the proper score. Have two or more other scorers confirm the results.

It's all worst edge, disreguard what you see on the best edge.
