Don Matzeder, Fred Leeds, Marion Collier, and Charles Scott, who are in the race for the A-Line, showed what true sportsmen they are by shooting two matches with terrible weather conditions. Charles had to leave after Saturday's match because his wife and grandson, who came with him, got sick with the flu; otherwise he would have shot Sunday. They would have helped their standings by declining to shoot. One of the great attractions of this sport is the principles of the shooters. The shooters I have met at the matches are the best of the best. Bill

Whew...must have been some NASTY weather looking at those aggs.
Good shootin Don.....I thought that rifle of yours liked the calm? Looks like you just plain got it workin.

Congrats on your wins there Don. Definitely looks like ya'll were fighting the elements with those aggs. We fought a north wind Saturday morning from the front that had past through Friday down here in Texas so our aggs weren't nothing to write home about, but it's still always enjoyable to get out and compete with everyone. Hopefully see you in Ennis this coming weekend.

Noo way I was going to miss all that fun:D

Thanks Don for not missing all that fun! Congratulations on both your wins.

Thanks to everyone that came and endured such a miserable day. I know a lot of you didn't have much fun but we made it thru. Most of our shooters traveled a long way to be faced with such miserable conditions and I apologize but fortunatley I can't control the weather.:D:D

Thanks again to everyone for coming and to everyone that helped out in anyway. Maybe Catfish Willy will have better weather in Chattanooga.

Gene,
The conditions are what make us better shooters. You don't need to apologize to visitors for what the Good Lord sent you in AL. You only need to understand that that stuff can happen any weekend. But scheduling matches doesn't include meteorology does it? Wish it did. It makes for a happier crowd and bigger attendance. But this time of year.....A-Line chasers have to deal with that kind of thing to stay in contention. It aint easy being them. They have to shoot every weekend and go where the events are best to stay in the hunt. Best of luck to those guys. Hope all is well in AL.

Gene:

No apology needed.. The weather threw you a curve, but you never know what Mother Nature has planned. I will admit that I haven't been that cold since I hunted Montana last year, but everybody had the same conditions.. You and Mickey put on great matches, I'll see ya next year..

Thanks

Dave
