ARA Match in El Dorado on Mother's Day is OFF!

The regular ARA Match for the 2nd Sunday of the month (May in this case) has been cancelled due to a conflicit with Mother's Day.

I don't know about you folks, but I am not messing with my Mom !

john, you could take lessons from our director Pat. he is not scared of wife or mom, and bravely set our may match for memorial day weekend....???

pat says he always has the final words with his wife....Yes Dear, Yes Dear!

Mother's Day - May 11th:

When we started running our rimfire matches here at our club, back in 1998, we set them for the second Sunday of each month from April to October. (When the snow is not too deep) I got in trouble a few times because I "forgot". This year I set the May match for SATURDAY the 10th of May. This is the first time we have EVER had our match on a Saturday. Don't know if it will help or hurt our match attendance.

Mother's Day Alternatives

Gordon,

We have CMP on the 18th and a pretty full schedule for other weekend days. I will have to plan better for next year.

Joe,

We initially started on Sundays and then tried one year on Saturday to accommodate the church folks, but that did not work well for the guys that work 6 days a week. It seemed that Sunday was the best for our type of shooter. So this year it is back to Sunday.

I would like to also coordinate with the folks up in Red Bluff so we do not conflict with their schedule, even though it is a 4 hour trip there from here. Maybe the gas price will go down D) someday.
