Looking at buying a used Anschutz 64. The owner called it an Anschutz champion model 64 .22 just looking for some input. I dont shoot competition but may try and dip my feet into the water at some point. Really just for fun accurate shooting, trigger control, hunting or rimfire long range shooting. Owner says it has 100rounds through it. Also says that it was made in Germany where the custom sights and trigger was added. I can get it for around 600-800. Anybody have any input of comments all are welcome!

Repiled to other thread, $600 is about tops for a 64 action. If the sights were of anshultz mfg maybe a bit more. Go to target talk ( Pilkintons forums) clssifieds to get a better handle on pricing.

I have one and I must say that there is no question about its quality for tight groups, with targets within the 50 to 100 meters, and even more. I did change the rear sight for a top quality one, a Ghemann that fits in the Anschutz rear sight frame. It comes with different rings for color filters, polarize ones and other options for the iris, and also you can use it for bench rest. Now, you have to consider which ammo are you going to use for feeding it, I prefer Eley or Lapua for precision shooting, both have cheaper brands for training. It must be considered that it sounds that this rifle is quite brand new, so after a deep cleaning, you shoot 10 to 20 rounds before you start to get the best out of its barrel. That is my experience about it.
Cheers
