Hi, it seem when i want to adjust the headspace for my barrel, the loading platform gets in the way. Is there any advice for this problem, perhaps im asambling it in the wrong way.
I set the hs. to 0.041 with a gauge but it seems that the plaform touches the barrel. Please help here. Thanks in advance.

Well I am going to be in the same boat you are in a few weeks when i finally get my new barrel in for my Annie 2013.

But I would say your head space of 0.041" is way to close if you are touching the loading ramp and it causing issues. If you research most head space is at 0.043"-0.044". When my barrel is installed we are going to try for 0.042" or 0.43". Actually, I would have to look at my load ramp and barrel, but i thought they touched anyways, will have to look when i get home.

So, I would just adjust your gauge and set it a little big longer.

Hope that helps,
Bill

Thanks for your mail.

But this was written just some days ago in another thread:

"I also put the question of headspace to a contact at Eley and this was his reply:-
Your headspace at 0.0405 is ideal for Eley ammo...
-most custom barrels are fitted to give around that figure,
-factory settings from the main manufacturers have been reduced over the last few years, at our recommendation,
-they were originally set at 0.043 but are more likely to be 0.0415 now,
-and of course with wear taking place the head space opens up as you put more shots down the barrel,
-the rim on our ammo is smaller than any of the other brands, so smaller is better".

I missed that thread.

Even in that one, it mentioned what i mentioned on head spacing.

What is nice about the 2013 you can adjust the head space with ease right at the range. Set it at 0.041" and if it is to tight on what ever ammo you are using, loosen it up, if is to loose, tighten it up. What was the recommendation of the barrel maker? I assume you are using Eley since you posted the quote above?

Personally, I think the head space of 0.0405 is to tight, you will have problems closing the bolt.

If I may ask, what you torque values are you using on the three barrel bolts?

Im told that anschutz recomend 8-8-10
However I hear people using:

8-8-10 kN front
7-8-8
5-6-6
5-5-6

Your have to test what fits your system.
