Anschutz 2013 BR-50 Stock Question

I own a Anschutz 2013 BR-50. As most of you know it comes in a stock that is considered to be a Bench Rest version, at least in the mind of Anschutz. The fact is that this rifle was brought about while BR50 was still going strong and involved in .22lr, before they cut over to air rifle only. Why is this form of stock not well liked by most (other than the weight factor), as I find it comfortable to shoot? If I were to replace this stock does any one make a stock that will fit the 2013?

Nice job on the stock. Now the question - the drop in barrels, who made them, what are the specs. how do they shoot and does the rifle make 10.5 #?

Question not really answered

Maybe this original question is not popular, but of the two post replys I got neither really answered the question as why the need to replace the factory stock with a custom job. Why are they not popular, I see that McMillan even makes a BR stock that is patterened after the Anschutz design.

How about this:

1. They're not compeitive with the factory stock cuz it tracks like crap compared to a Mac / Robertsons / ect.

2. Who makes them? Search under stocks on the main home page here and then look them up. I know Masterclass does, McMillan, Robertsons, Shehane.

3. You don't need to do anything with your rifle.

Sorry I didn't ans. your orig. question, I needed to weigh some components.
I have 2 Anne BR 50, 2013's One with the walnut stock and one with the McMillan.

Bolt, action, tuner(no weights), Weaver T-36, Hall rings weigh 7# 8.8 oz.
McMillan stock weighs 2# 15 oz. So this leaves no room for several oz. on tuner and the stock dosen't track great.

When I went to the Leupold Competition on the Anne with the walnut stock (Hall rings) I also re-tuned it with more weight. To make 10.5#s I removed the but plate and sawed several chunks off the stock. I now have .6 oz to spare:). My next project on that stock is to saw the bottom of the stock straight and parallel to the barrel. I'm not worried because that is the rifle Rita shoots:D.
