Anschutz 1710 question...

Are there any or many benchrest shooters here using the 1710? I have been thinking seriously about getting one. One local fellow has one and shoots very well with it. Usually 245 or better. I feel compelled to have a gun that is a good shooter that can if need be used for other shooting. And I like the fact that I really have to focus and depend on my skills too to shoot a good score. Thanks for your input.

chadflys, several of my friends own and are very accurate with their 1710's however their accuracy is in line with what they are and that is a hunting rifle. with a scope and rings their weight will exceed 9lbs. and they are magazine fed.

Is the 1710 essentially the same as the 1903 BR (barrel and action)? The stocks are different....

chadflys, 1710 is 54 sporter action 1903 is 64 action. check www.championshooters.com site they define all the anschutz actions. ones a sporter the other 3 posistion.also mt guns and here in the classifieds you can find anschutz as entry level and to build on. call and ask if that's the best price on the 1411 or 1907 at champion shooters it never hurts to ask.
