Fred Gould lost his battle with cancer and passed Wedsday. He shot IR 5050 only. Fred owned the unlimited class a few years ago. He will be missed as a shooter and match director.
I got to know Fred when he came east to shoot several IR50-50 Nationals in the late ninety's. Just a good person to be around. A real loss to the rimfire benchrest community ! All the best to his family. glynn
As with Glynn, I too got to know Fred and Kay when they were coming east for the IR Nationals back in the 90's, plus for awhile we would swap emails. But, then I guess we both moved on. They were, and Kay still is tops in my book. My best goes out to the Gould extended family.
Fred Gould was a class act and one of the greats in rimfire benchrest. My thoughts and prayers are with Kay and the family. It is sad that for the last several years every time I log on this web site it is to say farewell to another friend !
Through the 90's my son and I traveled to quite a few matches. We met a lot of great people and made a lot of friends. Fred was one of those friends. We shot with Fred and his wife Kay many times over the years and always had a good time. He will be missed, he was a fine man.
