Another remmy 1100 question: failure to feed

Earlier model...when cycling, the 12ga round is hanging up on the bottom edge of the bbl before making it into the chamber.

It appears the feed lip is not lifting the shell high enough to center the shell?? Tried several different brands of ammo with some worse than others.

All it takes is a little push on the lip to force the shell into the chamber. I've looked at the entire trigger assembly but can't wrap my head around where a week spring might be to fix this issue.

any ideas??

thanks,

On the outside of the magazine tube two steel pieces force the action open when it is fired. The magazine tube should be clean and dry. No lubrication, no carbon build up. Check to see if those steel pieces move freely up and down the tube and that the rubber seal is in good condition. If those pieces do not move freely they may be dragging and holding the action back a bit from slamming shut on feeding.

The return spring is inside the tube in the butt stock.

They are very reliable guns but do require cleaning/service occasionally.

All of that checks out and even replaced Dennis...can i polish just the very bottom edge of that bbl as the shell enters the chamber?? seems to me if i can get rid of the 90 degree i will be OK.

gun is very clean with little use...any other reason why that feed lip won't life higher or out of timing??

If you think it is a 'sharp' shell and a 'sharp' edge at the chamber... a little radius to the sharp edge will not hurt anything...
