Can you replace a firing pin into the spring assembly incorrectly after replacing the spring. 180 degrees out ? I've been told that Panda firing pins are marked so that you MUST replace it exactly as it was ....HMM

Mr Smith

Since you are south of the Mason-Dixson line, make sure that all of your Panda springs have a right-hand twist. Be careful because Mr Kelbly will try to sell you one of those Ohio left-handed ones.

Hey Ray, that's easily.....

corrected, just turn the spring 180 degrees....DUH. But our toilets flush CW (Clock-wise, again too wordy), how about those up north ?

This has become the learning channel....RIGHT

Howard, to give you an answer you can believe ;) the firing pins on Pandas have a small flat ground on one edge that goes under the cocking piece. This flat must be turned down when replacing it. For some reason the cross pin doesn't want to go in if it is placed contrary to the way it was. Remington's are especially bad about this and when I take one apart I always grind the little flat so I'll know which way it goes back.

THANK YOU, Mickey

That was exactly the answer that I was looking for. Someone gave me a Kliendorst firing spring compressor tool many years ago, so changing the spring is pretty easy....if you know what you are doing

THANKS AGAIN.

Don't know if I can make Rachel's Glen this month, I've been a bit puny lately.
Should be a beautiful time for the shoot, Good Luck :)

Steenkin' Mickey, always there to muss up a good discussion by interjecting rational facts
