Hello, I've been hanging out on the Campfire and RFC and snooped around here a time or two. I'm new to rimfire benchrest and have a lot to learn. Have purchased a couple of Sako Quads and am giong to be building a custom as soon as I sell some Sako Quad BBl's, stocks and stuff. Thanks, Ken

Keep shooting..

and have fun..

If you find a custom gun that shoots - buy it.

Get wind flags and shoot alot.

Get a good scope.

Get a good front rest.

well the first thing is to not try to reinvent the wheel. there are some excellant used rifles listed in the classifieds here for sale all the time. i dont think you cant go wrong with a 40x platform and there are some listed right now i think.

these b/r rifles are like classic cars people buy something better or drop out and these rifles come up for sale at excellant prices. the folks selling them are honest people and will help you along the way with your purchase.

buy the best rest you can afford believe me it pays off. i purchased a caldwell forecontrol but moved up to a pappas but the caldwell was a good thing to start with.

accept the fact you will have to spend at least 8 bux for ammo thats a lot but anything less and you are kidding yourself. print off some ara targets and get started shooting and practice.

as you practice you will soon get tired of that and will want to compete a little so off to a shoot you will go. i shot my first one yesterday and had a ball i found though not the best one there with practice i will be able to comptete against those heavy hitters in this sport.

you will get some great advice here from some winners in the game and i look to those guys as they have been there done that.

good luck

bob
