Annealed?

I am annealing some TN, BR Brass.

After my first 100 cases I discovered a better way; which is spinning the brass in a drill motor. This process gives me even anneling all the way around the case.

The first 100 cases do not show good color all the way around the case.

The question is: Can I redo the first 100 cases without casing damage?

None of these cases got near a red color and show the proper blue only on one side of the case.

Yes I am annealing 200, 7 BR cases that have been fired 7-8 times. Yes it is a Silhouette rifle.

Thank you.

I use a machine to anneal mine. It spins the case while in the flame.
The instructions that came with it say you can use the same test case repeatedly as long as you don't make it glow a dull red, those cases are considered ruined and should be thrown away.
I use Tempilaq to get the temperature right for annealing. If the Tempilaq does not change color, indicating the temperature was high enough, I wait for the case to cool down or dip it in water and run the same case through again.
The short answer is I don't think you will hurt a thing redoing the cases that weren't evenly annealed

Hi Guys,
You might want to check out the post Can't see the blue if you haven't done so already. Some info on annealing brass cases was posted by my friend Phil Phil a metallurgist recently.
