Ammo Testing

I finally picked up a 40x. This is my first benchrest style 22lr rifle. I bought a selection of ammo from Champion Shooter and had a couple questions. Is it best to test the ammo at 25 or 50 yards? Can you take the ammo that shoots good at 25 and assume it will shoot the same at 50? Should I take the best shooting ammo at 25 and test it also at 50?

If you shoot your competitions at 50 yards, you should practise at 50 yards and you should test at 50 yards. Doing any of that at any other yardage is just a waste of time in my imagination.
Just my two shiny pennies worth.

The trick is to eliminate as many other factors except the ammo you are testing. I test my ammo in a building with no wind at 50 yards. One of the best shooters that I know tests his ammo at 25 yards outside because he assumes there is less wind reaction at the shorter range.
