...and how to power Mod. the LG400 using a 21J LG300 Regulator..
"I took a brand new Walther (LG300) regulator that was factory set up for 21J/27J at 115 Bar and had an adaptor made up to get it to fit into the action. Then adjusted the hammer spring to get 800 fps on the 8,44 pellets and that was it. Nothing fancy. I have seen some serious tinkering done to LG400 rifles to get them to 12 fps but I was pleasantly surprised when this mod took me all of about 10 minutes. Spread was superb so I decided to do no more experimenting.
The barrel stays the same. It likes 10.3 and 8.44 grain pellets. I suspect that the barrel is of a very high quality and have a very good internal finish. I shot about 250 pellets and then cleaned the barrel with 3 felt pellets. The first felt pellet was very slightly "leaded" on the front and the other two was so clean that I could use them again which I think I will do as they probably cost more than lead pellets!!!
