Hi Paul,

Thanks for running these matches, you do a great job! Also, thanks for the nice lunch, drinks, and prize money. This is above and beyond the call of duty and much appreciated.

Seems Penny and I are on a roll this year. Lady Luck seems to be helping. I thought the conditions were tougher this match than the last one. Congratulations to Wifey on her first, but I’m sure not the last, 250 of the season.

I bring the coffee hoping the competition will indulge and get caffeine shakes.

I’m sure as the season progresses both you and Mike will be doing your share of winning…drink lots of coffee!

David did very well for his first time shooting RFBR. He was shooting a factory sporter with no wind flags. I think he may be hooked as he is talking about trying to get to Pinnacle Mountain for the next match.

Al

Paul,

Thank you for running another great match and was glad I could join in, plus help out. I always look forward to my trips down to Holbrook as it's always nice to have a break from the responsibilities of bring the range master every once in awhile. And Paul, I want to say again, congratulations on putting forth the effort to up-grade Holbrook making it one of the primier facilities, both indoor and out, in the northeast.

Penny, congratulations on that 250-15X! It was extremely impressive as, under those conditions I feel there aren't too many shooters anywhere in the world that could have equaled that score. You and Al have become two of the best shooters I have ever had the pleasure to compete against ...anywhere!

And Al, good shooting for an old man! :D

Mike, it won't be too much longer before you'll get that new gun all settled in and will be giving both Al and Penny a run for the money!

Dave Shattuck

Congratulations Penny on your 250, and to Al with the overall win.

Also to the rest of the Folks, great shooting.

Take Care,
Joe

Congrats to all

Congrats to all........

Congratualtions Al for the win.....great shooting.

Penny, a special congratulations to you cause your little .825" Lilja is one of the few barrels I ever successfully put my 6:00 chamber in.......an excellent 250.......

Good shooting all....your friend, Bill Calfee

Thanks for putting on this shoot...

I had a great time, thank you all. I will try and remember to bring a seat to my next match. I was lucky in being able to borrow a spare. I watched with some amusement during the airgun shoot as one man straddled a 55 gal. drum as his place to sit. My Savage/Anschutz is back in iron sights, my Remington 513T will get some work on it and hopefully I will have it and/or a Sportster weight CZ ready for NH. If not, I will do my best there with a 10/22. As to wind flags, I drew bench #4 and had wind flags all around me. I was so intent on finding out how to hold the rifle and squeeze the trigger that I paid little attention to the flags at first. Towards the third string, I got to shoot holding off a bit when all the flags were going in the same direction. It was also my lowest scoring string so go figure. Gusting 30 mph in my back yard so I will dig out the RWS 34 and put a few pellets through the wind and see if I can make any sense of how the wind blows and it's effect on pellets. Once again, thank you all for making it a fun day for me. David

Paul, once again thanks for the effort you put into the Holbrook matches! You've done well my friend and it is certainly appreciated. And by the way, you made a respectable showing in Maine last week.

Al and Penny -- thanks for the tips. Al, you are an inspiration, but watching Penny pull herself together after shooting a rough (for her) 2nd card and clean up on the 3rd with a 250, I now gotta keep my eyes on what both you guys are doing. In the past two matches I've shot with you, you've both exhibited the "mental" skills to move forward from, as Penny put it, "A humbling target", and succeed!

Dave S. -- I'm glad you were able to get to the match. A Holbrook match wouldn't be the same without you. If I can assist you with getting your Suhl where you'd like it to be, let me know. I have some extra trigger parts that I've been hoarding and the spare Benchmark barrel. Now, if you could just sell that parcel of land.

Dave V. -- Great to meet you. I look forward to seeing you at Pinnacle.

As always folks, you are a lot of fun to spend time with and to learn from.

Best,
Michael

David,
This past winter pouring the Concrete tops in my driveway, Cutting 4X4 steel tubing and self taught welding and making them potable, along with 4 more for the indoor AGBR shoots. I put building the seats on the back burner. I will try this week to make several. I did make two last year but they were used to put targets on and shot up in less than a week. I noticed in Maine they were chained to the bench. I guess I might have to do that.
I will have some made for the next shoot. Hope to see you in two weeks in NH.
(they have seats for the 12 benches also might need to bring bug spray.)

Mike,
Thanks for the good word. If your shooting Salem this weekend good shooting. My Honey Dew list is getting longer so I won't make it.
I will see you at PM.

Paul

Thanks!

Thanks all!

Shooting a 250 seems to be much more common now than in the past, but for me they are still very rare occurrences and very special. When I do manage to pull one off, it means that I took the care and time with every shot...it really is a mind game...concentrate, no guessing allowed...gotta KNOW where it's going to go! I think Joe Friedrich has stressed that and it is so true...thanks Joe!

Bill C...of course I always need to send a "thank you" to you for making a gun that does it's part...when I do my part!

Paul...great range you have set up...sturdy well designed benches...good work! Shouldn't forget the challenging "breezes" either...don't want it to be easy! Thanks for your generosity in providing not only prize money, but such nice sandwich fixin's...much appreciated!

Hubby, as always, you taught me...thanks! Penny

Conratulations Penny on a Mighty 250.
It is really nice to see you shoot so well,Keep up the good work.

Al and Penny you are shooting really well consistantly, are there any secrets you can pass on {I know to begin with a good coach is important}?

Holbrook sounds like a real pleasant place to spend some time and the standard of shooting by all the shooters is really impressive.

Good Luck ,

Charlie
