Air gun in North Carolina.

Lately I have been thinking about trying air rifle benchrest shooting. I first became interested when I first discovered a target at our club that had tiny holes in it. Someone had left it on one of the shooting benches. I noticed that the shots were all X,s. Someone had shot a target with an air rifle much better than I could with a 22 lr. I have been checking out air rifles on some air rifle sights and discovered ,to get the really competitive equipment you have to spend as much for an air rifle as I have for a bench rest 22. Not that I am a tight wad ,I just don't have three grand to plop down on a rifle. I am interested in some of the English rifles . I like the side leaver types. I haven't found any stores in North Carolina that sell compitition air rifles. I guess I will continue to look for air rifle compitition here in North Carolina. garrisone.

The Rockingham County Gun Club "The Rock" east of Reidsville, NC has rimfire benchrest matches on a regular basis. Their range has 25 and 50 yard target stands so air rifle at 25 yards and rimfire at 50 yards could be fired simultaneously. Next time I see him, I'll ask the match director if he would consider that possibility and show him an official 25 yard air rifle benchrest target. I would like to give it a try myself. Anybody else in the area interested?

Talked to the rimfire bencrest match director yesterday and initial indications are that we could have air rifle benchrest matches at the Rockingham County Gun Club if there is enough interest. Any takers?
