Hello,
I wish to acquire a manual lathe that can be used for benchrest quality chambering. Pretty igornant at this junction but do know that I need to have an dia. of 1.5 inches thru the spindle and capability to work with oh 32 inch long barrels. Is buying an used lathe even a good idea? I'll thinking all the China / Taiwan or inexpensive ones won't do Benchrest grade work, right?
I would prefer to get a used but not used up Clasiung or Similiar quality lathe but do not know how to check for wear? Any advice on purchasing one and techniques to check for wear are appreciated. Thanks.
