Advice needed

Where would be the best place to try to sell my lathe, set up for gunsmithing, and mill with lots of tooling and accessories for both? Any advice will be greatly appreciated. My head is reeling after the news from my Dr. on Thursday. I need to clear out my garage shop so my wife doesn't have to deal with it later. I don't know if I should try to sell lathe and mill as packages or sell the individual tooling that goes with each. My mind isn't functioning normally right now, my appologies. I hope this post is OK.

you might try your local craigs list.
Try posting it here you never know where a buyer might be.

Best of luck.

I know of a few that would be interested depending on your location. May I ask where the equipment is located and you have been included in my prayers.

Thank all who have replied and as always thank you for your prayers. I am located in La Quinta, Ca which is near Palm Springs, a little closer to Indio. I am in the process of cataloging and taking pictures. Basically I have a Jet BDB 1340 lathe w/ DRO and high and low pressure coolant pumps. I also have a Kondia 9x42 mill w/ 3 axis DRO and quill DRO. I will have to transfer all the accessories and tooling onto a chart someone can actually read. It is truly amazing how much stuff can be accumulated in 15+ years. I will get this done ASAP.

Update:Yesterday a very nice couple from the Chicago area came out to pack it all up & ship it home. They used California Machinery Movers as packers and expiditers. Jim Salazar was lead and was thoroughly professional and efficient. Everything was was boxed, wrapped, and palleted. It was all placed on the Airline Transportation Specialists rig and Al Pasket drove it away. Fifteen years of accumulated gunsmithing machines and tooling all gone in less than four hours! It was a little sad, my dream gone, but good that another can live what I wanted. I wish them the best of luck in their adventure into the gunsmithing business world.

And we can now actually park a car in the garage!!!

Good luck Chuck, and sorry you had to enter another phase in your life a little sooner than you would have liked. take care. Lee
