Hi,I'm a beginner shooting in the UK benchrest 50m,10.5lb class comp for the first time, the target being the same as the IR50/50,My rifle is a Weihrauch HW66, 5 shot bolt action, with a Weaver T36,using Eley Match EPS.Caldwell front bag,and Protektor Rabbit ear rear bag,the front rest is home made from a milling vice and exceptionally heavy, and mounted on a very solid table. My scores however are not great, best being 233 and 235 in still conditions, the bulk of my shots are hitting 9, and 10's,which leads me to believe the set-up is potentially OK,but my overall scores are being ruined by a tendency to drop 2 or 3 shots into the black for 6's,all around the 6 O'clock position. After shooting a lot of cards in practise, with different ammo,I don't feel it is movement in the bag/rest set-up itself, could it be a case for bedding the action,or can anyone suggest a different cause,
thanks
Andy
