Well, it was windy as heck. As you look at these scores - especially for the Senior Unlimited class; it is obvious (at least to me) why I (we) love this game / competition so much.
For a total of 4 targets shot by 6 different competitors - there is only a total of 15 points from 1st to 6th place! A total of 1 point from 1st to 2nd-3rd-&4th with each of those places actually tying with the tie broken only by the higher scored targets. And between 1st & 5th place only 5 points different.
If you haven't shot ABRA before you need to get a 10-22 or other semi-automatic 22LR and come out and join the fun!
Senior Unlimited: The high 1st target was by Jim Swaringin with a 187 (we had a total of 4 187's shot today and that was the high score for the day. The high 3rd target was a 187 (with a tie breaker with Jim Swaringin) that was shot by Chuck Spaugh. Yours truly (me) managed to have the high 2nd target with a 185 and the high 4th target with another 187. I was the overall winner with a 183.5 average and 2nd-4th places (with tie averages) were Jim Swaringin (2nd); Chuck Spaugh (3rd); Paul Dyer (4th).
Senior Factory: We only had 2 competitors today and I lucked out and took 1st place in it with Adrian Morales taking 2nd place.
The results are attached in a .pdf file for your viewing.
NEXT SATURDAY - HALLOWEEN - is OUR CLUB TOURNAMENT. Come out and enjoy the camaraderie and competition as we shoot 6 targets with approximately 10 competitors coming up to shoot with us from Boerne as well. Paul Dyer is smoking a brisket and we'll have drinks and fixin's to go along with it. There will be a minimal cost - $15.00 for shooting 1 class & $22.00 for 2 classes with those fees covering the meal as well. We will rotate shooting 3 targets and then swapping while others shoot 3 targets; etc. until we are through.
See you at the Range,
Ron Herring
