We had a beautiful day for shooting after all our rain. The winds were squirrel y - I wouldn't say they were that high but they were switching directions back and forth rapidly. However, that didn't hurt most of our Unlimited shooters - we still had some great scores recorded.
Darek Biggs needs some competition in the Junior class - so try to bring a young person along with you if you can - remember they have NO Match Fees! Darek shot an agg of 179.250 with a high score of 183.
Mike Kirkpatrick took 1st place in Senior Unlimited with a 192.75 agg and that was not Big Tex that he was shooting! His high for the day was a 195 on the final target. Bill Wynne had the 2nd high target with a 195 and finished in 2nd place as well. Paul Dyer got it all together on the 3rd & 4th target with a 193 & the high for the day of 196 to place him in 3rd overall.
On the Senior Factory side, a new shooter had the high 4th target with a 180 - good shooting David Strothers (and that is a right out of the box rifle!). That placed David in 2nd place. Ron Herring had the high factory target of the day with a 182 on the 1st target followed by two 180 targets on the 2nd & 3rd targets. His agg for the day was a 180.250. Darren Krumwiede brought up 3rd place in Factory.
We are looking forward to a good bunch next Saturday as we will have our Club Tournament. Come on out and bring your rifle and enjoy a Paul Dyer smoked brisket with all the trimmings. We will shoot 6 targets and we will break for lunch about 1/2 way through. Minimal cost - $15.00 for 1 class of rifle or $20.00 for 2 classes.
See you at the Range,
Ron Herring
