A new NBRSA.org web site is in the works.

Has anyone seen the announcement at NBRSA.org? On the first page of the web site, there is a statement that a new web site is coming to NBRSA.org where shooters can come together, find out more about the sport, check out their scores and find places and matches to shoot and much more.

Lee Hachigian is the new editor of the NBRSA magazine “Precision Rifleman” and his first issue (December 2018) is at the printers now. He is trying to get the backlog of match reports printed so that next years match reports can be printed closer to when the event took place. Lee also has a vision for the magazine to make it into a magazine similar to what Precision Shooting magazine was when it was at its best. Back when people looked forward to it every month and would read it cover to cover.

The membership need to be supportive of the boards changes.
The Board needs to be responsive to memberships desires.

Working together we can make great things happen/the organization stronger!!

May we have patience/refrain and support the board with these proposed changes.
The board cannot function properly with numerous micro-managers.

Its a breath of fresh air to hear the Board is addressing the membership concerns.

Once you have started the changes, realize it will be a work in progress, and need continued changes as we move forward.

Mike thanks for this update

Will be looking forward to it. Looking ahead to a busy 2019 shooting NBRSA benchrest matches and the Nationals in a location that allows me to attend!!

It will be nice to see the new site. Glad to hear of it
I was thinking it would be good if the regional directors were mandated to give a match report in their region within say 48hrs. Most of them attend all their own matches if they had a conflict then they would need to delegate that responsibility to someone else

Match reports are the responsibility of the specific [club] match director - not the NBRSA regional director. There is a procedure for filing, outlined in the contract signed by the club officer(s). If proper report procedure is followed, it then falls to the NBRSA [publication] Editor to get the reports printed. RG

P.S. A better web page is a good thing.:)

Agreed hopefully the new site gonna be a good thing

Just thinking what’s in place now doesn’t work to well. I think the regional director should have some responsibility in seeing that the reporting happens

The existing nbrsa site has a regional blog section where it appears years ago match reports and pics were posted with some regularity
You have to go back to 2011 in the SE to see this. Before my time. I don’t know who was driving the boat back then but they were making an effort to get the news out

http://www.nbrsa.org/Southeast-Region?page=1

What I’m saying is. why wait for a new site?
Why don’t the regional directors make an effort to update their blogs on the existing site?
Then roll into the new one

Would it be best to wait for the new site to join? I won't be able to make anything but local matches but i would like to support the governing body for the sport..........Thanks

Regards
Rick

Because the members don't DEMAND such effort. As you know, the SER members had a choice this year and most of the voters chose "No Change"!

I'm glad you pointed out the responsibilities of the match director regarding the reports that follow a match, Randy. Not many are aware of that. While I sent Harrison's in on the Monday after the matches to Precision Shooting it still took three or four months for them to appear in Dave Brennan's magazine. I'd be willing to bet that NBRSA had/has to wait for the reports from some ranges and that is one of the problems that Lee will have to deal with.

Francis. The old guys at WWCCA, tell me, that in all the years with the IBS. They never had a match report printed in PS. And Reports were mailed the first of the week....Dana and Dom. went to a winter meeting. Found out who was responsible and all he wanted was the match fees. Didn't want to talk about match reports and PS. They left IBS.
