A Little Anschutz Education - Please

I've searched the web and I don't know how my Anschutz Match 64 fits into the models that I see posted. Everthing I find says MP, BR, MS or 14xx, 15xx or various other models but, not quite what I have.

Mine has stamped on top of the barrel "Savage Anschutz Match 64". It does say Chamber 22 longrifle and has a couple very small symbols. And 6 digit serial number on action. It is a heavy barrel. The stock appears more sport but, I'm not sure it is original.

Can anyone help me with the approximate age and any links to technical info? I've found simple manuals for 64's but, that is where I'm having dificulty finding "which one".

Thanks,
Regis

That may be......

somewhere between 1964 & 1970. I believe Savage did not import them after '70; could be wrong, but the 153 S-A wasn't imported after about '66(it was a centerfire 54, I think). I believe the RFs were imported by Savage a little longer. If you have , or have access to, the Gun Digest in those years, check out the S-A for those years; but remember GDs are always one year behind.

The Savage-Anschutz 64 was imported up to around 1980. I also have a 153, 154 and I believe a 152. All of which were imported in the 1960's.

Thanks Brian & Hovis that is more than I knew.

Still would like to be able to find a parts breakdown.
