So less than a week ago my cousin's kid comes over and asks to borrow the lathe....... "have you ever run a lathe?"

"nope, but I can learn...."

So I sez "have at 'er!!"

He wanted to make a little cannon for his name-swap gift at the fam'bly Christmas.

He done spent some late nights!!!

So this is what I've been doing the last hour..... trying to get it supersonic with black powder.

We din't make 1000fps but what a riot!

I think his Navy brat Bro-in-law will be happy :)

Must be some wicked recoil on that! Built one that size to shoot up some 10 ga BP blanks I was given--had to put 3 lbs lead under the carriage to keep the recoil under 15 feet! Sure had people spilling drinks at the 4th of July party I took it to!!
