A Bolt Disassembly

Can someone describe how to completely disassemble The bolt on a Browning A-Bolt rifle. It would be appriciated.:)

Start by removing the bolt from the action... then I use smooth jawed Vice-Grips and grab the cocking piece with the Vice-Grips against the shroud... firmly.. then unscrew the assembly making sure the Vice-Grips don't rotate on the cocking piece and release it...

The firing pin tip is very easily bent... you can not treat it like a 98 or a 700 firing pin...

hold the firing pin in a padded vice and you should be able to figure the rest out...

Thanks, can you strip it farther down than that. What is the screw in the bolt for?And what about the holes in the bolt body? This one has been wet and needs to be completely cleaned.

I don't have one in front of me so I can not really say ...

Holes in bolts are normally there for gas venting...

I don't remember any screws in the bolt...

If you can't figure out this fairly simple bolt I think you would probably be best served by a gunsmith... :)
