I have a friend who is looking for loading info for an AR15 using the 90 gr matchking....yes he has the proper twist 6.5..... Any help would be appreciated.

Jeff,

Sorry if this sounds like I smart ar$e but there are not a lot of AR15's shot with 90 grain MK's in competitive benchrest, in fact I'd say none.

You'd be better off asking on the Factory/Hybrid or maybe the F Class and 1000 yard forums here or some High Power AR type site.

Just didn't want to see your post slip further and further down the page without the decency of some sort of an answer.

Jeff,
This may not help you since it was not on an AR platform. I had a 223 Rem. bolt gun with a 6.5 twist Pac-Nor barrel cut to about 28". I tried 90 grain MK and JLKs. VV-N550 worked well. Also H-380 was slightly more accurate, but slower by about 100fps. Three of the 50 MK bullets that I tried did not make a hole in the target at 100 yds during load testing although I did see dirt kick up on the berm. I realized later that all 3 of these were the first shot out of a cold, clean barrel. I never had this problem with JLKs, which were slightlly more accurate in my gun. I was probably pushing the MKs faster than they should be(high 2700s in my rifle).

Jeff ...

The bullet techs at Sierra 800-223-8799 will email you loads just for asking. They were kind enough to do it for me. Hope this helps. Art
