Hey all I was hoping someone might be able to help me get a head start on a load. Im lookin to try some 88gr bergers at 300yds. in my dasher with a 25" 8 twist krieger. I have a decent 105gr load but am out of Bergers rite now hence the experamenting with the 88's. I use RL 15 for my 105's but anyone have a suggestion for the 88's? the powders I have are Varget,V135,H4895,H335,H380,RL10x,RL15 and than some slower stuff. any help would be great. Thanks.

I've shot many boxes of the 88FB's but not in a Dasher. Most Dasher shooters use something heavier. I use the 88's and 90BT's because I shoot a small capacity case.

The 88's have the VLD nose so chambering must be very precise and runout on the reloads need to be minimum. They still shoot best with a very light jam. By very light jam I mean the rifling marks should be about 1/4-1/8 as high as they are wide. As in all VLD style noses I think about 3250 fps would be about maximum in an 8 twist for best accuracy.

Given the right setup, they are a great bullet for the 600 yard game. At the same sight setting and about the same velocity they hit about 8"-10" higher at 600 than the 90BT's on my guns (1:8 Kriegers).

thanks for the info Jerry. The only reason Im really tryin them is they are all I could find locally. My range here only goes to 300 also so I figured I'd try some FB's. I usually shoot 105's with RL thanks though.

use what works for the 105's

Go up 4 numbers on your powder measure ,,,it shuld work just fine...Roger

Hey expiper, I use a chargemaster so Im not sure what four numbers on that would be but what works now is 33.6 gr of RL 15 so maybe 34 to 34.4?
