I’m getting tired of saying ‘tough wind’. 5 shooters (yep, there’s only 4 listed) and no one was
Able to figure out the erratic elevation changes. Oh well, worth the camaraderie, eh?

About that wind .....

I have quite bit of wind here usually, and it switches back and forth and round and round on the range more than a little. When I shot at the big match in SC earlier this month, many folks claimed the winds there were "the worst they had ever shot in". but to me, it really WASNT all that bad. Sure the wind at the Worlds did switch and swirl some, but it was never strong enough to blow really light flagstands over, or cause shots to miss the whole bull altogether or like that.

Anyhow, I have now shot airgun BR at Chino, San Fernando, San Diego, Temecula, Chilcoot, Ashland Ore. and Ridgeville SC. In EVERY case, we ALL seemed to be complaining about those pesky winds!

I'm now realizing I enjoy the winds .... without them, most of the challenge of outdoor shooting is missing! Sure, we all cuss some at wind, but it gives chance for great fun.

Dear therealworldchampion, I would pay to see that match! We could maybe get it on Pay for View or Impossible Shots or Worlds Dumbest, maybe even Oprah. Springers probably out as he retired.....................the sky is the limit here my friend so go for it.

Todd,

Understandably, your sensitive right now... but I didn't read anything like that in LD's post.

I've shot at LD's place in Temecula and a few other places now... and Temecula has by far the toughest, strongest winds, on a consistent basis, of any range I've been to... So, LD would not think, nor did I, think, that the winds at the S. Carolina shoot were even half as bad as his place.

In my opinion, though, the SC winds were just as tricky, cause they were very deceptive when they looked fairly calm, LD's place is NEVER calm in the daytime... but if one could figure them out.. as you, and a few others did, one could do fairly well. The scores overall showed that most shooters had a very hard time indeed, with these winds.
