7mmbr questions

Just bought a 7mmbr pistol. and looking for some info. It has a no turn neck. Question is will I get too thin a neck if Lapua 6mm brass is used?

Also need help with what loaded rounds will measure so I can get a couple of bushings in that size range.

Where is a good place to start with bullets in a 1/9 twist 15in barrel?

any tips welcome.

Thanks,
Jim

Don't worry about turning the necks, the brass is already quite uniform. Just expand the neck to 7mm and load a bullet in it. Once loaded, measure the neck and subtract .002", that will be about the right size of bushing to buy.

My concern is, if the chamber is made for a no turn, I'm assuming it would be for 7br Rem brass. I also assume 7br Rem brass would be thicker than Lapua 6br brass that's been expanded. So I guess the question is how thick is 6br Lapua that has been expanded to 7mm?

Thanks,
Jim

No, a Wichita re-barreled with a Pac-Nor "std neck". I do not have dies yet, and can not even shoot it, and measure cases.

I did try a piece of virgin Lapua 6mmbr, and it chambered OK, buy my fired brass would not. (just to see if was any issue with web size with Lapua vs Rem brass)
