Thought I’d post this video to help others and get critiqued to get better. I’ll post the other parts including range videos later this week.

There are 4 parts so far.

Al and mwezell can only post if they’re nice ?

If Mike and Al can't respond to your post, I think you are trolling for folks that have no knowledge. Kinda like your post on all of the other forums.

This is too funny!

Butch, I only OPENED this post because I wanted to see what you had to say!

Imagine my surprise to find I'm already in it!

LOL

I guess I’m missing your point.... are you going to add something helpful?

Al and I have a complicated relationship, so I had to say it.

Mwezell is a fellow UK fan, so I have no issues with him even though the ackley debate got a bit heated.

Oh, you know!

I know ..... ??? I wish wheeler or cortina were over here. They are extremely knowledgeable and helpful without attitude.

As for other forums, I’m only on here and PM. Stalker....... ????

I mean, I’m flattered, but keeping track of me throughout your day??? Just a bit weird...

You are amongst the best and smartest people in the industry, right here. That's not a knock on either of the people you mentioned or other forums. This is THE place for the best information, from very qualified people but it's also the place where bs won't fly at all. Whether or not you get along with people like that is mostly up to you. It use to be this way even more so than it is now. Basically, just don't post opinion or conjecture as fact when experience trumps both.
I think that there must be an unwritten rule among many of the regular posters on here that we/they take pride in this site NOT being tolerant of misinformation and we like it that way.

There's nothing wrong with not knowing something or being wrong. Everybody has to start somewhere and none of us know everything, regardless of how long we've been doing this. But it's very likely that someone here has the right answer to just about any br and or accuracy gunsmithing questions that might arise. Tons of experience and knowledge on this board.

imram, trolling who? I have been a member on the Precision Machinist since 2002 and a member here since 2003 I think. You joined both Dec 2017.
Were you not happy on the PM forum with the replies on just hand tightening barrels and welding recoil lugs to the front receiver ring?

Mwezell,
I agree about experience, which is not based on post count, but real life. I have a lot, not as much as some, but enough that I try to be careful to be accurate in my assessments. My experience is in actually building rifles, physics and long range shooting. I am ignorant to BR which is why I came here to learn. Many topics cross over from BR to long range so I’m not ignorant to head spacing (got my tape method from Gritters).

Our argument stems from the saami discussion where I was basing my points on the prints and you on traditional. That’s fine, but a new guy was asking for clarification and he wasn’t getting both sides. I don’t like bs or attitude either. Alex wheeler was kind enough to give me his phone number a couple years ago to help me out and he is the same. Don’t know Cortina, but reading his posts on AS shows he is respectful. I appreciate that.

Butch,
Trolling after 2 years on PM?? When was I not happy with the welding and barrel tightening threads? Other than keeping the thread on topic instead of the “it isn’t safe” when many have done it before me, which is where I got the ideas. I SAW it work for them, which is why it interests me. I’m sure you have good experience, but with the attitude you throw at me, feel free to keep it to yourself. I can get advice from guys like Cortina or Wheeler and they DEFINITELY know what they are doing and are respectful.

You can certainly weld the lug on but there are just what I consider better ways, like double pinning the lug to the receiver. Have you asked either of those two gentleman for their thoughts on welding lugs on?

I believe they are both still on here. AW goes by zfastmalibu. Some of us have been around here long enough to remember his early days and posts on this site. He's come a long way in the last few years. Kudos to him for that. Your posts are reminiscent of his, back then.

Mwez,
First, Go Cats. If Nick every plays to his potential, we’ll be really good. No, I haven’t asked them. I have single pinned at 6 o’clock, but never double pinned. Maybe I should give it a try. I always prefer to have things solid if I don’t plan on removing them, thus the welding idea.
