700 rem boltface

have 700 rem with eroded boltface from pierced primers, what are alternatives to get fixed

A few thou can be taken off the face... and the barrel set back...

You could have Greg Tannel bush the bolt face and rework the firing pin. He only needs the bolt and his turn around time on this procedure is amazing.

PT&G bolts

The PT&G bolts that I have experience with do not close in a factory chambered rifle. There are dimension differences at the lugs and nose recess. Some chamber end metal work would still be required.

Bolts are bushed every day

Any competent gunsmith can bush your firing pin.

It is much less expensive than replacing a bolt.
