Has anyone ever taken the finish off a factory stainless trigger guard and floorplate? It looks like it is painted. I would like to if it can be polished to a bright shiny finish,but I dont know if it is cast alunimun or pot metal. Reps at Remington did'nt know. I did'nt want to take the finish just to find out you could'nt shine it up. TIA
 
They're cast aluminum. I've taken the black anodize off several ADL triggerguards. They're the same material and polish very nicely. Those grayish-silver ADL style triggerguards from a titanium 700 are actually painted steel.
