I have a Rem LH 700 SA BDL 308 action and was thinking of barreling with a # 3 or 4 barrel to 6mm BR Lapua for a calling rifle and was wondering if anyone has done this and if they had a feeding problem with the ammo from the magazine. I need to know if the 6mm BR case will work in the Magazine without have to modifly the feed rails and if the case is to short for reliable feeding.

I have done the conversion as per the information on Mike's site. It works most of the time but not all of the time... tricky with short cartridges...

You will be disappointed with feeding the 6BR, even with the modified magazine, it works sometimes with long target bullets seated right out, but is pretty bad with hunting weight bullets.
Just go with the 243 for a hunting rifle, it will shoot as well and you can load it as slow or as fast as you want.

Here is a link to the only working BR magazine I know of...it is a single stack design...but it functions flawlessly...
