6xc

What brass are you using? There is a difference in volume between reformed Winchester .22-250 (lighter, thinner cases - more volume), reformed Remington (heavier cases w/ less capacity), and Norma made 6xc. A mid- to high pressure load for the latter two types of cases is around 39 grains of 160, but start around 38 grains and work up.

Accurate loads seem to be in the 2900 to 2950 FPS range. There appears to be another accuracy band around 3100 FPS, but case life is short when using 160 loads that deliver this velocity. I have lost a few Sierra 107 grain bullets when shooting this fast (core melts).

David Tubb had some information on his website, but that .pdf file appears to be corrupt at the moment. (Unreadable.)

Hope this helps.

I'm running a 6XC on Reloader 17 for F Class out to 1000yds - 3250fps with the 105gn Berger VLD and Norma brass with very good accuracy.
