I've got a new project I'd like some opinions on. I've got a brand new Kreiger 1 in 8" #18 LV barrel blank that I would like to shoot lighter bullets in (from 68 grn. to 85 grn). I already have a faster barrel and a slower barrel but want something in between. Any opinions or experience?

Most 68gr Match bullets will bughole from an 8" twist, some will slip their cores and throw fliers. IME Bergers, Match and MEF will hold up and shoot well. The little A-Maxes will probably blow up and the Nosler Ballistic Tips will poke tiny dots except that when they hit meat they'll send back a report like who flang a cat ag'inst the grain bin. kuh'THWANGGG!!

Al,
Thanks , that's what I was looking for. I shoot 65 grn. V-Maxes out of my 1 in 14" @3450 ft/s. and they hold up very well. I strive for the report of the 'hydraulic thwack' when a varmint gives up the ghost.
