I have some forming dies for the 6 HLS and some brass for a 6HLS improved version. Looks like these were made from 308 WIN and 250Savage. I have some paper work in the bags of brass that indicates they were being reloaded and shot in the late 70's and early 80's. So I am thinking they were from the Golden days of benchrest and wildcatting. It looks like a shortened version of a 6 mm Remington AI(40 degree)., So any of you oldtime benchresters that have a set of dies for the improved or load data that you would like to sell or send to a good home. or trade for something let me know. I really like the looks of the improved version. I know that there are other cartridge that I could chamber for but just tinkering. Let me now what you have or how to get there from here.:)

I have several mid-size 6's like the HLS and 6mm International. I've switched to the 6XC to get away from forming cases. I'm a big fan of the mid-size 6mm's.

Your case with the 40 degree shoulder probably isn't that much different in performance from a 6XC. Cases and dies for the 6XC can be bought ready to use.

Somewhere around here I have a Hart 1-12 twist barrel for a Remington in 6 HLS and the reamer used to chamber the barrel also about 350 formed cases from Lapua 308 brass. Got a good home for them? If you want a 6 HLS this is your chance - PM me.
