I have a 6 Dasher and have formed 100 cases using false shoulder method. Has anyone tried forming using traditional method. All mine came out well but it is a pain in the asterisk to do. Thanks V/R Greg Fowl

I just formed 100. Seven of them were formed by using the Jam method. The rest were formed by using 20 grains the best I can remember of Accurate #2 powder and no COW (Thanks Al) and false shoulder NO Bullet.

The only difference I could tell was the one formed using the Jam method were .010 shorter. The ones formed with pistol powder didn't shrink in OAL and looked a little more consistent.

Okey

I've tried the jam method, but had a lot of trouble with the case slipping over the bullet and misfiring. Now I use a false shoulder with whatever pistol powder I have available filled to the bottom of the neck and stuffed with a little paper towel. Makes a helluvabang, but it also makes a very good case.

I tried forming using a 6mm barrel reamed to 30Dasher by just using the jammed bullet method. Half of the first 100 cases were lost to case head separation. Found out their next firing when one case split ¾ around. Used a RCSB Case Master Gauge to sort out the others.

If you want to make the standard method work you may need a lot of neck tension. Like over .005”. Federal primers. They go off easier than CCI. And a bullet that can be jammed well into the lands. By doing that I was able to make the next 100 cases form out right. But I’d still use the false shoulder method if I could.
