6.5-284, 6.5-06, 6.5-06 ackley ?

I am new to benchrest forums and the idea of getting into scored competition, may need much help.

I am on a very tight budget and am looking at savage target actioned rifle
that can be ordered in 6.5-284 for not a bad price, but I have a soft spot in my heart for 06 variants namely the 6.5-06 and ackley improved version of the same, I have read that the 284 variants are extremely accurate inherently
much like the 308 win variants.

does anyone have an opinion about the new savage target action or which chambering to go with
 
I do not think you want to shoot any of those chamberings 25 to 50 times off a bench for a Score match. Best chambering they offer for this use would probably be 6 BR.
