According to the Don Miller Twist Rule the unadjusted (for environment) stability factor (Sg) for the 1:9 twist for that bullet would be Sg=1.24 and for the 1:8 twist Sg=1.57. Brian Litz recommends at least Sg=1.4 and less than 2.0.
I've had good luck following that for bullet and twist selection and would use the 1:8 twist if it were me. nhk
I shooot 144 & 139 Lapua from my 1x8 with no problems. It also handles some old 88 gr. HP very well too. I would go with a 1x8 if it were me. Rifle 260 rem.
