I have read a bit of the concept behind 5R rifling or polygonal rifling including a well written article with input from Boots Obermeyer. I have several Bartlein barrels with 5R rifling and can only attest that they clean easier and quicker than conventional rifling. This has been verified with borescope inspections after cleaning vs. conventional rifling. From a gunsmith's perspective, do you have a preferred one, i.e. button vs. cut rifled and what is your opinion of the 5R process?
