What is it about a a Barrel that it likes one bullet but hates the other. Today shooting my AR-15 1-9 twist 26grs of Bench Mark pushs 55gr V-max or Nosler BT,Berger Match 3200 and prints a few round 3/4MOA groups or even better does that with H335,IMR 4895 and other powders also.Butt 60 gr Sierra HP backed by Bench mark,H335 or so far BL-C(2) prints messy 2 MOA groups. I've always had great performance in my other guns with Sierra bullets.

Give the seating depth or bullet jump some experimentation before you write off the bullet.

Hmm, my AR (1 in 8 twist) likes 60 gr Sierra HP's, but different barrels like different bullets for sure. In AR's the bullets frequently have to make quite a leap - to far to be a jump - to the rifling, especially if you've got a 5.56 chamber. That could well make a difference in accuracy from one bullet to the next. Unless you're single loading you're pretty much limited to the OAL allowed by the magazine so you just try to find a bullet that shoots in YOUR rifle.

I wouldn't waste powder or time trying to find a powder that works with a bullet, find a powder then try different bullets of the weight you want to shoot to find one that shoots. If I remember you're looking for a bullet for coyotes, and any of those you've tried that shoot well should work.

While you're looking, don't..........

forget that some rifles don't like:

Certain powders,

Certain primers,

Certain brass & its dimensions.

Sometimes you'll just have the "luck of the draw" to start working with a rifle
(or handgun) that proves to be a challenge, rather than a drop-in fit.

Well these anomilies is what keeps us shooting?

So V-Maxs and Nosler BT my BBL likes 60 SHP none and 65gr Sierra game king so so. With 65 I found that IMR 4064 is the closest I can get to Varget in burning rate. After I re-installed that little red rubber wedge between the lower and upper in AR-15. I was able to print 10 shot 1"MOA with 4064 and Bench Mark. Also tried IMR 4320 and that was no good at all. I've had it I'm gonna do some marathon loading sessions with the V-Maxs and Nosler's. Oh know what about 60 gr V-Max and Nosler ????? Gee I think I have some Rem 7 1/2 primers? I could use a drop tube and face west ! Maybe I should try that XXX brass?:D
