50 Ft. Indoor Benchrest Winter League

I'm working on a 50' Benchrest Indoor League at our club this winter. What I'm wondering is if there are other clubs that have an activity like this and some pointers from fellow shooters who participate? If there is anyone out there with some experience with this, please let me know since we have a organizational meeting next Tuesday.
 
Some of my scopes will not focus at 50 feet. That may be a deterrent . Going to take some fine measuring to break ties at that range

The Weaver scopes do and of course the Leupold EFRs..Leupold also makes a screw in glass that converts the 100 yard mark to 50 feet.....

Now on measuring,that's easy,score the outside edge rather then best edge,,,,Only saw one true un-measureable 5 shot group fired in five years of 50 feet indoor shooting...It hard to believe buts be true..NCAA shooters also shoot at 50 feet and every shot is scored by tenths on the electronic systems...Your ole friend Jack will fill you in if you doubt my words..........

Thanks for he comments. We shot the first event yesterday with a nice turn out. Ran three classes, Modified(target barrels,unlimited optics etc.), Sporter (pretty much factory gun, 7.5lbs max, 6x scope, must be able to hold more than one round) & Open Sights. A variety of scopes were used although the 36T Weavers focus nicely, I have had a problem in the past with my Leupold 6x42 Competition(convert doesn't fit) so I switched out to a Weaver 6T for Sporter. Some of the guys made weight with variables so they were allowed to use them taped off at 6.
It may not be the most challenging, however, it's fun, a good time getting together, draws new shooters and a chance to practice in the winter here in Michigan.

We really don't have much in the way of formal competition within easy driving, so we take what we can and shoot 50 yd. Green Monsters and 100yd Egg shoots in the summer.
I personally use Weaver 36T on the target guns inside and 6T
on the sporter. I did have the focus problem with a 6x42 Comp. Leupold, the factory said they could adjust, but then I would lose on the other end.
 
Does the indoor range at Grand Haven have a name. And is there special shooting hours? Is it open to no-members? Might make a fun Sunday trip.

Hi Mike it is the South Haven Rod & Gun Club in South Haven. We are south of Grand Haven by about an hour and west of Kalamazoo by 49min right on Lake Michigan. This is the start of our new biweekly league, however come on over and shoot. By the way, we go up to the Flat River Conservation Club (Greenville) and shoot in their 50' Indoor Fun Shoot (fund raiser) a couple times a year, you should join us, it's all fun!

Don, we shoot the A-36 target and that is quite challenging for us wantabe's. :)
