Gas went from $3.699 to 3.899 per gallon today.
Milk went from $3.99 to 4.19 per gallon today.
My business (Lube Shop) is down nearly 40%
"We'll just add a quart and spend the extra on gas"
A friend's resturant is going to start closing 3 nites a week.
The K-Mart parking lot across the street from the shop ain't near as full as it usually is.
I'm afraid this is going to result is some SERIOUS problems for the average Joe Blow on the street........and all the candidates can do is talk about how hard it is on the hard working people of xxxxxxxxxxx or yyyyyyyy.
Big trouble brewing. And we are supposed to be the greatest nation on earth.

Now to make Wilbur happy, I'll make this a legit post by saying 27.4 gr H322 powder works like magic in the 6mm Beggs!

Yes SIR!

Bryan, I agree completely ! I see it as a paradigm shift of sorts.....
I have known these days were a coming....... The insecent demand of nations like CHINA as well as our unquenchable thirst for oil in ALL aspects of our daily lives (not just for transportation)... Causing oil futures to go freak'n crazy!
The bad thing is this paradigm shift is just getting started.... Lotta pain of all sorts as we go from this point.... New technologies will help but lets face it, nothing is made from thin air. Oil will ALWAYS be needed as the basis for "things" the modern "Western World" needs, wants, desires.......

I like to shoot Benchrest...! But I can only take it so far... Affordability....
So many matches a year... Only so far I can travel... Raton Memorial Day Best in the West match is one I won't miss..... At least till the expense gets WAY over the top............... It's coming...:(

I'll see ya Sat morning Bryan,
cale

Cale, I'll be there with bells on......

I probably should not have posted that, but when I see the expenses start to exceed the income, then hear the quarterly record profits of the oil companies, I get a bit twisted.
Looking forward to shooting with ya at the Best In The West over Memorial Day Weekend! Hope the gas thing doesn't force the attendance down. Drag Dumas along with you......sounds like he started the season off very well!
Should be fun!

Thank god you live in America today. You would have never survived world war 2. Heck you had to have a stamp just to get meat or a gallon of gas.
We aren't even close to that. But then we aren't as tough as we used to be.
I just came back from Korea and the they are paying almost $7 a gallon. And they make half what we do. In fact most Koreans from our generation don't even know how to drive.
America has been in love with cheap fuel for to long.
Compare the salary of the average machinist in 1940 with the price of a gallon of gas from that same time and I'll bet we are at about the same level or better.

Panic begets more panic.

When Shooting a load of 29.0 of H BenchMark with an 88gr bullet in the 257TeD, pressure seems well in hand.

Ted

PS
China is buying up rice and that is one reason for a world shortage.
They may be experiencing a limited rice famine as, they normally are able to produce almost all of their own rice.

We keep hearing how fortunate we are to be paying $4.00 a gallon for gas because most of Europe is double that or more and Korea is $7.oo. Well, that doesn't much fool me. These countries have 1/10 the resources we do, 1/10 the refineries, 1/10th the transportation services, and 1/10 the pipelines. Yet they only pay double what we do!? Come on people wake up! DOn't buy into the fact that "this is just the way it is going to be". That was the call of the loyalists in the mid 18th century New England! Only difference between then and now is that the enemy no longer wears red battle coats. They wear $800 suits and ties and call themselves oil executives and they ARE posting record profits because they can convince the american public that an earthquake in Timbuku raises the costs of crude. ANd that a hurricane in a third world country limits production. Or that an asteroid flew through the Andromeda Nebula and that somehow relates to an exhausted oil field somewhere in the fertile crescent. No. I ain't believing it for a second. We have the ability and resources in our OWN country to make life easier at the pump. But unfortunately, there are no government regulations in place to prevent the oil companies from taking advantage of the consumer. ANd considering that the oil companies FUND most of the politicians in our government, this should be no surprise. Heck, even George B himself is in office because of the black stuff. Think he's going to change the price you pay at the pump? I doubt it.

Hi Folks.
Gas in New Zealand is equivalent to US $ 5.82 for your size gallon and rising.I bought a Mitzubishi Challenger in June 07 Diesel was equiv to US $ 2.68/ US gal now is US $ 4.72 / US gal.

Just to get back to gun stuff... how do you convert 6.5 x 47 Lapua cases to 6 x 47 Lapua.

YYou keep Cale in line an don't let his .22's intimidate anyone too much ;). I wish I could make this one but my brother's girlfriend is dragging me to Arkansas to see him an for the first time in a long time I'll have to miss the Best of the West. I do however plan to check the schedule an make the next MC match out that way.

You boys don't have too much fun
