40X No Lug ?

I have 40 X in 222, Has a 9 lb. barrel, It was barreled without a recoil lug as once it was in a sleeved action, I am now going to put it in 40X stock, Can I get away with just the 2 action bolts, Thanks.
How about if I pillow bed it also?

Could you tell us More? Like what barrel blank and taper you have for a .222 that is nine pounds and what type of shooting you would use that in? That large of a barrel is generaly supported by a bedding block, and the action is free floated. I wouldn't free float that barrel from that action without a good lug, even if it were "pillow" bedded that's for sure.
